At some point in the early summer, I decided to try something to see how well I could leverage the “friend power” of Facebook. I created an event called “Send Bessam a Postcard Day” and invited everyone to send me a postcard from wherever they happened to be. The result of all that is below!
About half of those cards (more than 50!) came from friends around the world, as close as London, ON and as far away as Malaysia and Australia. The rest came from my parents in the Czech Republic, and from my own souvenir-collecting during my trip to California.
It is a thoroughly invigorating feeling to wake up and know, fundamentally, that I’ve got so many people out there willing to take some time to stop and think about me every now and again. Thank you, friends!
